MANILA, Philippines — Finland’s employment minister Arto Satonen will visit the Philippines from Jan. 16 to Jan. 18 to explore opportunities for deeper cooperation and promote career prospects in Helsinki for Filipino talents in technology, industry and health care.

Satonen will be accompanied by a delegation of stakeholders from cities, businesses, educational institutions and labor market organizations, including Helsinki Mayor Juhana Vartiainen.

The 1,000-foot (300-meter) M/V Dali collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26, killing six road workers and blocking the busy shipping channel.

According to the Finnish Ministry of Trade and Labor, the growing demand for skilled employees has prompted more Finnish employers to seek professionals from abroad.

In Helsinki, the country’s capital, the number of international professionals working across various fields continues to grow.

Laura Lindeman, director of the Work in Finland unit at Business Finland, expressed optimism about attracting more Filipino talents.

She encouraged Filipino professionals to explore opportunities to work and live in Finland through the national website, www.workinfinland.com.
